My Story

Rufaro means "Joy," and that is exactly what I aim to bring to the screen and stage.

My acting journey began in Harare, Zimbabwe, where I built my foundation as a performer through theatre, national festivals, and storytelling. Along the way, I was honored to receive national recognition through the NIAA Festivals, earn the Cambridge High Achievement Award in Drama, and perform in a nationwide theatre tour supported by UN Women.

Today, I am pursuing a BFA in Acting at WCU, where I continue to explore film, television, theatre, and improvisation. Along the way, I've found a vibrant community through campus leadership, serving as the 2025-2026 WCU Catamount Noble, President of the BIPOC Entertainers and Artists' Collective, and Miss Black Student Union 2024. 

As an actor, I love playing characters who are clever, charismatic, and just mischievous enough to keep audiences guessing. Beyond performance, I continue telling stories through MUTUPO Magazine, a creative project dedicated to culture, identity, and connection.
